Hikes

Mittenwald is located in one of the most beautiful hiking regions in the Alps. Nestled between the Wetterstein, Karwendel, Soiern, and Ester mountain ranges, a variety of tours await you for every level – from leisurely strolls to more demanding mountain hikes. Popular destinations right in the area include the Mittenwalder Hütte and the Brunnensteinhütte, which impress with breathtaking views and a genuine hut atmosphere.

Mountain biking

Ferienhaus Magdalena is an ideal starting point for mountain bike tours in the Karwendel Alpine region. Between the Wetterstein and Karwendel mountain ranges, varied routes lead to the Schachenhaus or Karwendelhaus, all the way to the small Ahornboden – ideal for anyone who wants to combine nature with an active vacation.

Via ferratas

Varied via ferratas with stunning views and alpine character make the region particularly charming. The Mittenwalder Höhenweg is one of the most beautiful tours right on your doorstep, while the Freiunger Höhenweg near Seefeld offers an exciting route at lofty heights. Cross-country skiing

Rafting

Experience a medium-difficulty tour from Imst to Haiming – also ideal for beginners aged 12 and up. The tour takes about 2 to 3 hours and is easily reachable from Mittenwald in approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. An unforgettable experience awaits you!

Wreath

Kranzberg is Mittenwald's local mountain and ideal for easy hikes with a panorama. Karwendel Railway

The Karwendelbahn takes you directly from Mittenwald to an altitude of over 2,244 meters. Whether for alpine hikes, spectacular viewpoints, or simply experiencing the high mountains – the cable car is a real highlight and perfect for an impressive day on vacation.

Zugspitze

Herzogstand
